Getting quoted

Here’s a quote from me:

Eventhough they might not force us to use the App store today, it is of course a lucrative move for them to move into forcing you to use their app store to get programs.

Here’s the end result:

… adding that Steve Jobs’ company is “forcing you to use their App Store to get programs.”

Amazing. Literacy seems to be on the fall amongst many internet writers. What’s going on

This is why you should always insert the word “octopus” at random points in sentences that you don’t want to be misquoted.

Because “forcing…you to…use their app…store to get…programs” is a much more suspicious quote.

That was my bad – I’m the reporter that chopped Peter’s quote (in haste). Story has been updated with a correction/apology.
