Today we just got some new information about the appeal case. It turns out that one of the jurors in the appeal will be a person employed by Spotify.
Spotify, part-owned by the record companies that are the suing party, is a Swedish company that sells/streams music online.
Is it time to move the case from Stockholm now mkey? This is just ridiculous. Seriously, it’s more than just a farse now. We need to make up a new word. The process is not even close anymore.

ojojoj, vad de håller på och ska trixa hela tiden. Man undrar allt vem det är som drar i spakarna i Stockholms rättsväsende. Jag hoppas att ni lyckas få det till Skåne och får en objektiv bedömning.
Har du någon sorts historik över alla snedsteg och allt jidder/fuffens kring den här rättegången? Skulle vilja ha en lista på varje alla som upptäckts/misstänkts vara jäviga.

Alltså. Finns det inte tillräckligt många jurister och nämndemän som inte har ett smack med musikbranchen att göra? Måste alla vara medlemmar i diverse föreningar osv?
Ibland önskar jag att jag var färdigutbildad nu och mitt i karriären, jag skulle minsann inte vara medlem i den sortens föreningar! Å andra sidan kanske jag skulle misstänkas vara jävig åt andra hållet då jag inte direkt tycker som dem….
Ni delade min klass (á 300 studenter) i två läger i våras under rättegången. Vi som ansåg att ni skulle frias av diverse anledningar och de som ansåg att ni måste fällas av andra anledningar. När domen föll firade de andra och sa saker som “skönt att rättsväsendet fungerar”, vi andra undrade vad sjutton som gått snett? Jäv-spekulationer följde därefter. Ja, vad kan ha gått snett… :-/

Är det bara jag som känner att OM Spotify har ett intresse av att rättegången slutar på det ena eller andra sättet, så kan det lika gärna vara åt andra hållet? Existensen av kanaler för olaglig musikdistribution på nätet är ju antagligen det starkaste incitamentet som musikindustrin har att stödja Spotify och liknande tjänster. Om det inte gick att fildela musik så skulle man kunna fortsätta med sina gamla affärsmodeller i betydligt större utsträckning. Sålunda skulle en friande dom i TPB-målet kunna ses som gynnande för Spotify, lika gärna som en fällande, eller hur?
Sedan ska vi inte glömma bort att det inte är Spotify som ska sitta i nämnden, och inte ens deras ägare, utan en person som jobbar. Och det är faktiskt en väldigt stor skillnad. Själv tycker jag mest att det verkar trevligt att det även bakom domarbänken kommer att sitta en person som har en chans att begripa den tekniska sidan.

Impartiality and neutrality is a key word to Justice. It’s sad because Sweden (and Scandinavia) is known worldwide as a model to democracy. I was stunned when I went to Finland and Sweden how everything worked so well. Unfortunately it’s not what we’re seeing on #spectrial.

An employee from one of the largest competitors to TPB as jurors? At least this time they presented the fact before the trial.
